West Ham United have established contact with Anthony Modeste's agents as they look to line up a move to sign the striker to replace Diafra Sakho.

The Hammers are in the market to bolster their attacking options for next season and have been linked with a number of strikers, from AC Milan's Carlos Bacca to Lyon's Alexandre Lacazette.

Now they are switching their attention to 1.FC Koln goalscorer Modeste and according to French magazine Le 10 Sport, have already made contact with the player's agents.

It is claimed that West Ham are preparing for the potential departure of Sakho, with Sunderland tipped to sign him, and are keen to draft in a replacement as soon as possible. And if they do quickly snap up Modeste, Sakho may soon be at the Stadium of Light.

They will not have a free run at Modeste however, as Chinese Super League club Beijing Guoan are expected to submit a highly lucrative proposal to the striker soon.
