Real Madrid are worried about the expense of potentially signing Paul Pogba and are unwilling to spend silly money to snare the midfielder away from Juventus this summer.

The 23-year-old Frenchman is one of the most sought after talents of recent years and is believed to be Real Madrid’s top target for the next transfer window, ahead of the new season.

The Spanish giants are yet to make a bid for the midfielder and have been in talks with his agent Mino Raiola over a proposed move for the player. But Real Madrid are a little sceptical about the figures mentioned.

Juventus are expecting a world record fee in excess of €100m, and according to Madrid-based daily Marca, Real Madrid are afraid that the total financial package of acquiring the Frenchman could reach €160m, including agent fees worth €20m.

Real Madrid have reportedly set aside €90m in transfer fees for Pogba, but with Manchester United willing to offer a big sum for the midfielder, the price is expected to rise.

However, the Spanish giants are in no mood to spend silly money for the Frenchman and are hoping to drive the price down to more acceptable figures in the coming months.

Pogba was recently dropped from the France first eleven after his poor performance in the opening game of the European Championship against Romania.
