Stoke City have seen a bid of €25m for Napoli striker Manolo Gabbiadini rejected by the Serie A club, while West Ham are keeping a close watch on proceedings.

Potters boss Mark Hughes is keen to bolster his attacking options this summer and has zeroed in on Gabbiadini as a potential signing.

Hughes has tried his luck with an offer of €25m for the 24-year-old, but according to Sky Italia, it has been knocked back by Napoli.

That may not be the end of matters though as Stoke could yet return with an improved offer, while West Ham are fans of the Italian marksman and may choose to insert themselves into the race for his signature.

The striker scored nine goals in 30 appearances for last season's Serie A runners-up in the recently concluded campaign and Napoli are not ready to sell for €25m.

It remains to be seen whether an improved offer could turn Napoli's head and result in Gabbiadini leaving Italy for England.

Gabbiadini landed at Napoli in the 2015 winter transfer window from fellow Serie A side Sampdoria.

He has won six caps at international level with Italy, scoring once.
