Hector Herrera is leaning towards a move to Napoli instead of Liverpool, as he assesses his future this summer, it has been claimed.

The FC Porto midfielder is a man in demand this summer and the Portuguese giants are already moving to secure a replacement in the form of Atletico Madrid's Oliver Torres; the 21-year-old midfielder spent the 2014/15 season on loan at Porto.

Napoli and Liverpool are in for Herrera, with the Italian club's bid claimed to be lower than the English side's; it currently sits at €20m and Napoli do not want to improve it.

Herrera prefers a move to Napoli, according to Italian outlet Fantagazzetta.

The Mexico international wants to play in Europe next season and Napoli have Champions League football to offer following a finish of second in Serie A last term, while Liverpool have no European football on the agenda.

Herrera also wants to play regular first team football and believes that he would command a starting spot at Napoli – at Liverpool he would have a fight for a regular place in the team.
