Liverpool's signing of Sadio Mane from Southampton has caused Italian giants Inter to spy an opportunity to scoop up Lazar Markovic.

The Serbian winger was loaned out to Turkish giants Fenerbahce last term as Liverpool looked to hand him the playing time they felt he would not receive if he remained at Anfield.

Markovic's future is up in the air and the signing of Mane further adds to the competition for places at Liverpool.

According to Italian outlet Calcio Mercato, Inter are now actively tracking the Serbia international and believe Liverpool's signing of Mane opens up a window of opportunity.

The Nerazzurri feel there may be a possibility to sign Markovic, or loan him for a small sum.

The winger struggled to make an impact at Fenerbahce and his cause in Turkey was not helped by an injury picked up in February which ended his season early.

Still just 22 years old, Markovic is under contract with Liverpool until the summer of 2019 and it remains to be seen what plans manager Jurgen Klopp has for him at Anfield.
