New Celtic signing Moussa Dembele has revealed that he started following the Scottish Premiership closely last season and as such the competition will not be a surprise for him.

Dembele, 19, plied his trade with Fulham before joining Celtic on a four-year deal on Tuesday; he is out of contract with Fulham this summer.

The Frenchman, who predominantly plays as a forward, scored as many as 17 times for the Craven Cottage based club last season in a total of 46 appearances.

Dembele, whose move to Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur fell through in January, has admitted that he began following the Scottish Premiership closely last season.

He was quoted as saying by STV: "I came to Celtic to improve. I see my future here and hopefully I can score a lot of goals at the club and win trophies. I think in terms of football it's the best place for me to be.
