Manchester City new boy Nolito is confident that Pep Guardiola will help him to improve as a player after he joined the club earlier today.

Nolito, 29, became Guardiola’s third signing of the summer after Ilkay Gundogan and Australian midfielder Aaron Mooy joined the club; Manchester City confirmed his capture from Celta Vigo this morning.

The forward was part of the Spain squad that exited the European Championship at the hands of Italy last week, and he arrived in England earlier this week to complete his move to the Etihad.

Nolito is looking forward to his time at Manchester City and is keen to give his absolute best to take the club forward in the coming years.

"I’ll try to bring as much as I possibly can", he told the club’s official website.

"I’ll do everything that the manager asks of me, try my absolute best and do everything I can to try to repeat the form I’ve shown throughout my career at various clubs.

"It’s just about trying to play my normal game and let’s hope that I can help Manchester City to win games.”

The Spaniard was part of the Barcelona B squad while Guardiola was at the Camp Nou, and Nolito is confident that despite being 29, the Manchester City boss will be able to further improve him as a footballer.

"I think that Pep Guardiola is one of the best managers in the world.

"He knows a lot about the game and he’s going to help me progress as a player and I’m sure he’ll get the best out of me."
