Everton have put a lucrative offer in front of Axel Witsel to tempt him to head to Goodison Park, but the midfielder wants more time to consider his future.

Witsel is claimed to be choosing between Everton and Napoli when it comes to his next club, with both sides being willing to pay Zenit St. Petersburg €15m for his services.

He was due to make a decision on Monday, but according to Italian TV programme Qui Studio A Voi Stadio, Witsel is currently on holiday and has asked for more time to make his choice.

Everton meanwhile have put a lucrative proposal in front of the former Benfica midfielder and are hoping he cannot resist the lure of England.

Napoli however can offer Witsel the carrot of Champions League football next season, having finished second in Serie A last term.
