West Ham winger Michail Antonio has put pen to paper on a four-year deal and will remain at the Olympic Stadium until the summer of 2020.

Since his arrival from Nottingham Forest last summer, the winger has gone on to become one of the central figures in the West Ham line-up.

The player from England in fact managed a total of 26 Premier League appearances for the Hammers last term, scoring eight goals and also provided his team-mates with four equally important assists.

The player has welcomed the new deal, insisting that the fact that the manager and the chairman have shown faith in him means a lot and he will do everything he can in his power to prove the decision right.

“I am delighted to have signed a new contract. I am happy that the manager and the chairman have showed their belief in me to give me a new deal", Antonio told his club's official website.

Reflecting on what has transpired since his arrival at the club, the winger said that he had to be patient to get his initial chance and once that happened there was no looking back.

“I have always believed in my own ability and when I am given the opportunity I will take it and hopefully I have showed that.

“I had to be patient when I first arrived, but once I got the chance I never looked back and hopefully I can now push on and do even better than what I did last season.”
