Liverpool are demanding a fee of around £30m for Crystal Palace target Christian Benteke, and the Eagles are yet to reach an agreement with the Reds for the player, according to Belgian daily Het Laatste Nieuws.

Palace are pushing to sign a striker this summer, and have already been beaten to Michy Batshuayi’s signature by Chelsea, despite them reaching an agreement with Marseille before the Blues made their move.

Following his failure to lure the 22-year-old to Selhurst Park, Alan Pardew has turned his eyes towards Batshuayi's Belgian team-mate Benteke, and is pushing to bring the Liverpool striker to London this summer.

Liverpool are willing to sell the hitman, who was a bit part player under Jurgen Klopp last season, but have slapped an asking price of around £30m on the Belgian international.

While Palace are keen to take the player to Selhurst Park, they are yet to reach an agreement with Liverpool but are hoping to get a deal over the line soon.
