Crystal Palace have rekindled their interest in Inter Milan defender Davide Santon and are pushing to take him back to England during the summer transfer window, according to Sky Italia.

The Eagles have entered the transfer window with a large transfer budget, as Alan Pardew looks to build a team that can push to finish in the top half of the Premier League table next season.

Adding more defenders is one of Pardew’s priorities this summer, and it has been claimed that he has his eyes set on former Newcastle full-back Santon.

The Italian full-back struggled to play regular first team football at Inter last season, and made just 12 Serie A appearances for the Nerazzurri, as he became only a bit part player in Roberto Mancini’s team.

Santon made 82 Premier League appearances for Newcastle during his stint in the north east, and his experience of playing football in England is believed to be one of the key reasons behind Palace’s interest.

The Eagles are expected to make their move soon for Santon, and are set to set place a bid on Inter’s table for the full-back in the next few days.

Santon has a contract until 2018 with Inter, but is said to be keen to leave the club for more first team football next season.
