Manchester United are keeping a close eye on AS Monaco defensive midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, with Stoke City and Southampton also interested in the player.

The 21-year-old defensive midfielder joined Monaco from Rennes in 2014, and has been an important part of their first team squad, with 41 appearances under his belt.




However, it has been claimed that he is not part of Monaco boss Leonardo Jardim’s plans for the new season, and is believed to be on his way out of the club this summer.

According to French sports daily L’Equipe, Bakayoko is keen to resolve his future soon, and it has been suggested that he is currently the assessing the offers on his table, including the ones from Stoke and Southampton.
 


However, the Premier League duo could face stiff competition from Manchester United, who are also following developments regarding Bakayoko closely.

A product of the Rennes academy, the young midfielder has already clocked up 55 appearances in Ligue 1, and primarily plays as a physical presence in front of the back four.

Bakayoko has a contract until 2019 with the club.
