Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of striker Vincent Janssen from Dutch Eredivisie club AZ Alkmaar.

The White Hart Lane outfit had been struggling to agree a fee with AZ for last season's top goalscorer in the Eredivisie, but recently a breakthrough was made and now Janssen is a Spurs player.

The striker has signed a four-year contract with Tottenham, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2020.

Janssen had been wanted by French champions Paris Saint-Germain, but refused to consider a move to the club as he had his heart set on joining Tottenham.

Janssen netted 27 goals in 34 league games for AZ last season as he helped the club to finish in the top four in the Eredivisie.

The striker, 22, was also handed the 2016 Johan Cruyff Trophy, traditionally given to the Eredivisie's young player of the year.

Last season was Janssen's first in the Dutch top flight after he turned out for Almere City in the country's second tier.

Janssen is expected to provide competition up front at Spurs for Harry Kane.
