Everton have an agreement with Zenit St. Petersburg over Axel Witsel and are pushing to take the Belgium international from under Napoli's noses.

Napoli and Everton have been involved in a tug-of-war for Witsel, but it appeared of late that the midfielder was set to move to Italy after the Azzurri agreed a fee of €22m plus a further €3m in bonus payments with Zenit.
 



However, Witsel has not yet made a definitive decision amid talk his move to Napoli has collapsed and Everton are back and pushing hard to take him to Goodison Park.

According to Italian outlet Calcio Mercato, Everton have an agreement with Zenit set at €25m for Witsel.
 


And the contract they have prepared for Witsel is worth €4m net per year.

Napoli are now fretting that Everton may indeed beat them to the midfielder's signature.

Zenit are keen to sell Witsel this summer as he has only a year left on his contract at the club and is ready to move on.

The Russian giants paid €40m to sign Witsel from Benfica in 2012.
