Italian champions Juventus have moved quickly to agree a contract with Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain, running until 2020, but now need to reach an agreement with the southern Italy outfit.

Higuain has been attracting attention this summer and the man who hit the back of the net an astonishing 36 times in Serie A last season has been strongly linked with Arsene Wenger's Arsenal.

But it is Juventus who are sprinting to get a deal over the line before their rivals for Higuain's signature can react.

And according to Sky Italia, the Bianconeri have managed to agree a contract with Higuain which would keep him in Turin until the summer of 2020 and see him earn €7.5m per year.

Juventus are now looking to reach an agreement with Napoli for Higuain, but it has been claimed if they cannot do so then they will give serious consideration towards paying the striker's €94m release clause.

The Italian champions would rather not take that route though and are prepared to throw a number of players into the deal for Higuain, with Simone Zaza, Daniele Rugani, Stefano Sturaro and Roberto Pereyra possible options.

It now remains to be seen if Higuain's other suitors, a group which includes Arsenal, react to Juventus's move.
