Former Leeds United head coach Neil Redfearn is anticipating an exciting season at Elland Road in the forthcoming campaign.

Redfearn led the Whites in the 2014/15 season before not being offered a new contract and eventually departing; he had a spell in charge of Rotherham United last season.

He has now signed up with Radio Yorkshire to cover Leeds' games for the forthcoming season, in which Garry Monk is in charge of the club, and believes the campaign will be exciting.

Redfearn said: "I'm looking forward joining the team at Radio Yorkshire and getting to watch Leeds United every week. It looks like an exciting season ahead."

Leeds are aiming to at least finish in the top six in the Championship this season as they look to put together a promotion push.

In recent seasons the Whites have been firmly in lower mid-table, not able to put together a serious tilt at earning promotion to the Premier League.

Owner Massimo Cellino is hoping Monk can change that next season.

And if Leeds do not finish in the top six, season ticket holders will be handed a partial refund.
