Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has remained coy on his club’s interest in Manchester City target Leroy Sane.

The young winger has been tipped to leave Schalke this summer, and Manchester City are said to be the favourites to land the 20-year-old German, who has already made his senior debut for the national team.

It has been suggested that Pep Guardiola’s team have already agreed personal terms with the player, and are ready to offer a fee of around €43m to Schalke for the winger.

Bayern Munich are also interested in the Germany international, but were planning to sign him at the end of next season as a long term replacement for the ageing Arjen Robben.

However, with Robben suffering another injury, which could force him to miss the start of next season, there is speculation that the German champions could look to scupper Manchester City’s plans to sign Sane this summer.

But club CEO Rummenigge declined to offer anything on the club’s interest in the Schalke winger.

The 60-year-old told Bild when asked about Sane: “I do not want to fan any transfer speculation.”

A product of the Schalke academy, Sane has notched up 57 senior appearances for the club, and has a contract until 2019 with the Ruhr giants.
