Arsenal linked striker Mauro Icardi has insisted that he is happy at Inter Milan and is keen to honour his contract with the Italian giants.

The Inter captain’s future at the club has been under the scanner despite the Serie A heavyweights making it clear that they have no plans to sell the striker this summer.

Despite Inter’s assertions, there has been speculation that they have a pain threshold and their will to keep him will be tested if a club come up with an offer of more than €50m.

While Tottenham have been linked with a move for Icardi, in recent days Arsenal are said to be his suitors and his agent was reportedly in London in recent hours to hold talks with Arsene Wenger’s team.

However, Icardi indicated that he remains committed to the Nerazzurri, and insisted that he is feeling happy playing for the Serie A giant.

He told Corriere dello Sport: “I have always said that I feel fine here.

“Until 2019 I have a contract with Inter and they are my team.

“Others can say whatever they want, I am working to improve myself, play well, and make it difficult for the coach [to drop me].”

The Argentine has scored 52 goals in 105 appearances for Inter since joining the club from Sampdoria in 2013.
