Leeds United CEO Ben Mansford admits he is very excited about the club's youngster Ronaldo Vieira.

Mansford, who recently arrived at Elland Road from Barnsley, has wasted no time in taking a hands-on approach at the club, backing head coach Garry Monk to drive the Whites up the Championship standings in the forthcoming season.

Leeds have made a number of additions to their squad this summer, but it is someone who was already at Elland Road that Mansford has become excited by.

Young Vieira was handed his first team debut by former Leeds boss Steve Evans in the side's final match of last season against Preston North End, just days after he had signed a professional deal with the Whites.

The midfielder, whose brother is also a budding talent currently on trial with a club in the Czech Republic, has been involved with Monk's first team squad this summer and much is expected from him.

And Mansford, who watched Vieira in action on Leeds' Ireland trip earlier this summer, is excited.

"Ronaldo Vieira is so exciting!" he told LUTV.

"I only saw half an hour of him against Shelbourne, but he excites me."

Leeds have just one friendly left before the start of the new Championship season, with Atalanta to visit next weekend.
