Premier League side Bournemouth have confirmed the capture of Brad Smith from Liverpool.

Smith, 22, is an Australia international, and made four appearances for Liverpool in the Premier League last season as the Reds finished eighth behind the likes of Arsenal, Spurs, Manchester United and Manchester City.

A left-back by trade but able to be deployed on the left of midfield as well, Smith has signed a four-year deal at the Vitality Stadium after joining for an undisclosed fee.

Bournemouth chief executive Neill Blake told the official Bournemouth website: "He is another excellent young player that we believe can progress under Eddie and Jason’s guidance, but he also brings with him experience of playing at the highest level in both the Premier League and on the international stage with the Socceroos.”

A product of the Liverpool youth academy, Smith has already represented the Australian senior national team nine times, along with playing for England's junior sides as well.

The youngster becomes Bournemouth’s sixth summer acquisition of the summer as Eddie Howe’s men have already signed Smith’s former Liverpool team-mate Jordan Ibe, Lewis Cook from Leeds United, Lys Mousset from Le Havre, Emerson Hyndman from Fulham and Nathan Ake on loan from Chelsea.

Smith previously featured against Bournemouth during Liverpool’s 1-0 win over the Cherries last August.
