Leeds United supremo Massimo Cellino is not expected to arrive back in the United Kingdom until Friday, as Whites fans wait for news of further signings.

The Whites are in the market for a midfielder, with Sunderland's Liam Bridcutt an object of their affection, while further fresh faces are also tipped to arrive before the window closes.

Leeds are under pressure to bulk up their squad this summer, especially as emergency loan signings have been abolished, meaning the group when the window closes is the group the club will have to use until the winter window.

Cellino has been out of the country working on potential deals and is now due back in the United Kingdom on Friday, according to Radio Yorkshire.

The Italian is hands-on on transfers at Leeds and it is unclear whether the club will push deals over the line with him out of the country.

The Whites have already made a clutch of signings this summer, bringing in Rob Green, Kyle Bartley, Matt Grimes, Hadi Sacko, Marcus Antonsson and Kemar Roofe.

However, they have lost last season's Football League Young Player of the Year Lewis Cook to Bournemouth.
