Paris Saint-Germain winger Hatem Ben Arfa is confident that Manchester United know what they are doing by investing a world record fee to sign Paul Pogba.

Manchester United have been engaged in serious negotiations with Juventus for the signature of Pogba, and it has been suggested that they could soon strike a deal worth a world record fee of €120m.

The Red Devils have been drawing ire for spending such enormous sums of money for a midfielder, but the Premier League giants are moving forward with their plans to get their man.

And they have found support from Ben Arfa, who joined PSG this summer on a free transfer, as he feels the Red Devils are aware of what they are doing by trying to sign his France team-mate.

He admits that Pogba would be under pressure if he lands at Old Trafford this summer, but is confident that Frenchman will soon make his mark in England.

Ben Arfa told Le Parisien: “It’s a huge deal.

"If Manchester United are investing so much into him, it’s because they know what they’re doing.

“Of course, Paul will have a lot of responsibilities due to it, but I have faith in him.

"I think he’ll be able to impose himself very quickly.”

As for which one is the bigger coup between signing Pogba for €120m or Ben Arfa on a free transfer, the winger replied: “[After thinking carefully] Paul Pogba for €120m.”
