Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen are interested in signing young Lyon full-back Jordy Gaspar this summer.

A product of the Lyon academy, the defender has been earning rave reviews with his performances for the club’s reserve side and has been tipped to break into the first team soon.

Despite not making a single appearance for the senior team, the 19-year-old is already attracting attention from abroad, with clubs from Germany and England vying for his signature.

According to French sports daily L’Equipe, Liverpool have been tracking his progress for some time and could make a play for Gaspar during the summer transfer window.

However, the Reds are not the only club on Gaspar’s trail, with suggestions that Bayer Leverkusen have also been keeping a close eye on his performances for a while.

Lyon are keen to hold on to the young talent beyond the summer, but it has been claimed the youngster is tempted to leave the club, amidst interest from big European names.

Gaspar has also broken into the France Under-19 squad, and was an unused substitute in their 3-2 defeat to Germany in November last year.
