Rangers boss Mark Warburton insists that no one in the media or on social media has worked out just who the Gers are still chasing this summer.

Warburton has been busy in the transfer market so far, reinforcing his squad ahead of the club's return to the Scottish top flight.

He has made several notable additions, including former QPR midfielders Joey Barton and Niko Kranjcar, while Jordan Rossiter has been tempted north from Liverpool.

But Warburton is not finished yet and is eyeing a defender and a forward before the window slams shut, as he shapes his squad for the long slog of a season in the Scottish Premiership.

And he is delighted that Rangers' transfer chases are being conducted in total secrecy, something not easy to do when the pool of talent available is shrinking.

"We have a number of targets, none of which are on Twitter and none of which have been released", he told Rangers TV.

"We would like another striking option and another defensive option in an ideal world, but they have to be players who add value on and off the pitch and that’s really strong", Warburton explained.

"This will only happen if the players we want are available, we are working on it but it’s a decreasing talent pool – Frank McParland and his team are working tirelessly", he added.

Rangers have already been in competitive action this season in the form of the Scottish League Cup.

Warburton's men have qualified for the last 16, winning all three of their group stage games without conceding a single goal, in what is a bright start to the campaign.
