Leeds United new boy Kemar Roofe has stressed the importance of self-confidence ahead of the start of the new season.

The League Two Player of the Year joined Leeds this summer from Oxford United and has looked the part during their pre-season preparations over the last few weeks.

With just a week and a bit to go before the start of the new Championship season, the Leeds players are going through the last phase of their training before they gear up for their trip to Queens Park Rangers on 7th August.

Roofe pointed out that the Leeds players have done everything necessary during pre-season to get in top shape ahead of the new campaign, and now they just need to trust what they have done over the summer and approach the big kick-off high on confidence.

When asked how he was feeling before the start of the new season, the forward told LUTV: “We have worked hard, we have taken the right steps.

“And now we have just got to trust our training.

"We have done the hard work in pre-season, and now it’s time for the final bit.”

Leeds will play one final pre-season game against Serie A opponents Atalanta this weekend at Elland Road before the start of the new term.
