Juventus have held talks with super agent Mino Raiola over a proposed move for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Blaise Matuidi, who could well replace Manchester United bound Paul Pogba.

The Italian champions are on the verge of losing Pogba to Manchester United for a world record fee, and have been canvassing the market for a replacement for the Frenchman.

A number of midfielders have been linked with a move to Turin, and it has been claimed the Bianconeri are particularly keen on signing Pogba’s France team-mate Matuidi.

And according to Italian daily Corriere dello Sport, the Italian champions have been in talks with Raiola, the midfielder’s agent, over a proposed move that would see Matuidi wear Juventus colours next season.

It has also been suggested that Serie A giants’ proposed four-year contract has also been ratified by the Italian super agent, but the real challenge lies in negotiating with Paris Saint-Germain.

While PSG accept that the midfielder could leave the Parc des Princes for regular football this summer, they have slapped a €40m asking price on Matuidi.

Juventus are unwilling to spend such a sum on the 29-year-old, and are eager to drive the price down to a reasonable figure through negotiations with the French champions.
