Bari have completed the signing of Leeds United linked winger Raphael Martinho following his departure from Carpi.

Martinho, a player who was linked with Leeds last summer and again this summer, recently terminated his deal at Carpi to look for a new club.

And Bari sporting director Sean Sogliano's good relationship with Martinho – Sogliano signed the Brazilian winger while sporting director at Hellas Verona – has won the day.

Martinho has put pen to paper on a two-year contract with the Serie B side.

The Brazilian had been attracting interest from other Italian sides with Spezia and Pro Vercelli keen on securing his services following his departure from Carpi.

But Martinho has been convinced by the offer placed on the table by Bari and is committed to the southern Italian club until the summer of 2018.

Bari finished third in Serie B last season and are aiming to push for promotion to Serie A in the forthcoming campaign.
