Napoli have slapped in a cash plus player bid for Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi, who has also been strongly linked with Arsene Wenger's Arsenal, but the Milanese giants are unlikely to accept the offer.

The 23-year-old Argentine’s future has been under the scanner over the last few days as Napoli are working hard to snare him away from the Nerazzurri this summer.

Napoli lost Gonzalo Higuain to Juventus, and want Icardi to replace his fellow Argentine at the San Paolo, but are finding it hard to reach an agreement with Inter.

According to Italian broadcaster Sportitalia, the Serie A giants have slapped in a new bid for the striker which includes a hefty transfer fee, and a Napoli player to entice Inter into selling their captain.

It has been claimed Napoli have offered a fee of €50m and have included Manolo Gabbiadini as part of the deal that would see Icardi move to the San Paolo this summer.

Inter have so far maintained that the Argentine is not for sale at any price, and the club hierarchy are expected to knock back the latest offer from Napoli.

Arsenal have also kept a close watch on proceedings, but are yet to make any concrete move for Icardi thus far this summer, even though they are in the market for a striker.

Icardi is reportedly interested in joining Napoli this summer, but is yet to make any public statements to push Inter into a corner.
