Rangers manager Mark Warburton has promised his side will learn from their friendly defeat against Burnley at Ibrox on Saturday.

Warburton watched his men slip behind after only three minutes when Andre Gray fired in for the Clarets, while the lead was then stretched to two goals when Gray again hit the back of the net in the 18th minute.

And in what was a memorable afternoon for Gray, he netted his hat-trick in the 54th minute to leave Rangers' reeling.

Warburton's men did pull a goal back after good work from Michael O'Halloran on the right wing, the wide-man putting a cross in which a Burnley defender turned into his own net.

However, there was no doubt Rangers were second best to the English side throughout and Warburton knows his side must learn the lessons.

"You learn something in every single game, and we all learn something together", the former Brentford boss told Rangers TV.

"It’s not about just the players – it’s about all of us together and we need to see what we can do better in training, what to focus on in training, and at the same time, what can we do in terms of our environment at the training ground.

"You have to look every day of every week and get better. We need to keep pushing and that’s what we will do", he added.

Rangers do not have long to shake off the pain of defeat as their Scottish Premiership campaign starts next weekend with a visit from Hamilton.

Ibrox is sold out for the match.
