Leeds United boss Garry Monk is confident that he will have the squad that he wants by the time the transfer window closes at the end of next month, but pointed out that there are many factors to a deal and getting players in is not an easy business.

Monk has already overseen six new signings at Elland Road this summer, and has revealed that he wants a few more before the window slams shut on 31st August.

With no emergency loan options this season, Leeds are under pressure to cover all their bases before the summer window closes, and the club are looking to get in a few more fresh faces as soon as possible.

Monk has previously said that he would ideally like to see most of his squad assembled before the start of the new season, and admits that they are working towards getting a couple of players signed next week.

The Leeds boss insisted that he is confident of assembling the squad he needs by the end of the window next month, but pointed out that it is not all about the club that want the player.

On Leeds’ transfer business, Monk said in a press conference: “We are working in a good way.

“And as I keep saying there are many facets to a deal to be considered, and it’s not always from the side of the club that would want the player.

“Every manager will tell you that they would love to have every single player first day of the season.

“Of course we would look to do the business this week if we could, but of course I am confident that we’ll have the squad when that window closes.”

It remains to be seen whether Leeds manage to snap up a few fresh faces before they take on Queens Park Rangers next Sunday at Loftus Road.
