Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that midfielder Alex Pritchard has been sold to Championship outfit Norwich City.

A product of Spurs' youth academy, Pritchard made just two senior appearances for the White Hart Lane side and has now decided to head elsewhere for regular first team football.

Pritchard has signed a four-year contract with the Canaries and explained to the club's site that he is ready to push on with his career and prove himself at Carrow Road.

The 23-year-old explained: "I'm ready to come here, fight for my place and hopefully play well.

"I feel I need to go out and prove myself again in football. I'm 23 now so it's about time I had my own path really", Pritchard continued.

"I've had a full pre-season and with our first game at the weekend I'm looking forward to hopefully bedding myself in quickly."

Norwich open their Championship campaign on Saturday by visiting Ewood Park to take on Blackburn Rovers, while they then welcome Sheffield Wednesday to Carrow Road the following weekend.

A visit from Bristol City comes soon afterwards, on 16th August, before they clash with fierce rivals Ipswich Town at Portman Road on 21st August.

Pritchard has experience of playing Championship football, gained during loan spells with Peterborough United and Brentford.
