Leeds United are set to sign a midfielder from a Premier League club in the next two days, but the man in question is not Sunderland's Liam Bridcutt, it has been claimed.

The Whites have been holding talks with Sunderland and Bridcutt in an attempt to take the defensive midfielder to Elland Road on a permanent basis, after he spent the majority of last season on loan at the Championship club.

But Bridcutt's wages are proving to be a problem and despite the midfielder wanting the move, progress is slow.

Now Leeds are looking at another Premier League midfielder, although no name has been mentioned apart from the fact it is not Bridcutt.

And according to Radio Yorkshire, the player in question will join Leeds in the next two days.
