Leeds United could well be set to receive further Italian investment, although it is not yet clear whether it would lead to a new majority owner.

Whites supremo Massimo Cellino has flirted with the idea of selling his majority shareholding in the past, but has never concluded a deal, despite at one point agreeing to sell to a fan consortium.

Now there could be a change on the ownership front, although it may not mean Cellino leaving.

According to the BBC, Leeds are close to agreeing to sell a major stake in the club to Italian businessman Andrea Radrizzani.

The supremo of sports media group MP & Silva , is in advanced talks with the Yorkshire giants over a deal which would see him buy a stake in the club.

It is claimed that while the deal is not yet complete, it is close to being done.

Leeds have found themselves increasingly outgunned in the Championship transfer market in recent seasons, while they have also lost their brightest young talents.

Substantial investment from Radrizzani could change the picture though.

The Whites have also been linked with being a target for a Chinese consortium.
