Leeds United winger Jordan Botaka is heading to Charlton Athletic on a season-long loan deal.

Botaka only joined the Whites last summer from Dutch side Excelsior, but has struggled to make an impact at Elland Road.

His fortunes have not improved under new Leeds head coach Garry Monk and it appears the Yorkshire giants are offloading the DR Congo international.

According to Dutch broadcaster FOX Sports, Botaka is heading for Charlton Athletic on a season-long loan deal.

Botaka will be aiming to play regular first team football at the Valley, as he aims to help Charlton win promotion from League One back to the Championship.

He is under contract with Leeds until next summer, although his contract contains an option for a further two years.

And so, Botaka's exit from Elland Road to Charlton may mark the end of his spell with Leeds.

The winger was also keen to move on as he aims to ensure he is in good shape for the African Nations Cup early next year.
