Martin Odegaard is expected to indicate whether he is prepared to join Ligue 1 side Rennes on loan tomorrow.

The 17-year-old Norway midfielder has been linked with Premier League clubs Liverpool and West Ham, while he also has interest from Germany, amid Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane warning him he must move on to play regular first team football.

Odegaard, who was the most wanted youngster in world football when Real Madrid won the race for his services, is expected to depart the Bernabeu on loan.

Rennes have entered the race for the midfielder and are confident that they are well positioned to scoop Odegaard up, helped by the fact Zidane may prefer the youngster to move to his homeland.

And according to French sports daily L'Equipe, Rennes are expecting to hear from Odegaard tomorrow over whether he is prepared to join.

Rennes managed a finish of eighth in Ligue 1 last season and start their campaign in the new season later today when they travel to the south coast to face Nice.
