Pontus Jansson has passed a medical with Leeds United and should be presented by the English Championship club on Thursday, as details of the season-long loan deal emerge.

The Whites are snapping up the Swedish centre-back on loan until the end of the campaign with a purchase option included in the agreement.
 



Jansson underwent his medical with Leeds on Wednesday and came through, with the club expected to confirm his signing on Thursday.

According to Swedish daily Kvallsposten, if Jansson plays 20 games during his time at Leeds then the purchase clause will kick in.
 


It is claimed that will see Leeds pay £3.6m to sign Jansson on a permanent basis.

Jansson had been due to pen a new deal with Torino, but the Italian outfit backed out of the agreement.

A four-year deal had been lined up for the Sweden international, with an increase in salary.

It is suggested that following the withdrawal of the contract, which would have increased the defender's salary, a disappointed Jansson started to look for the exit door.
