Crystal Palace have moved ahead in the queue for Chelsea striker Loic Remy, as the Frenchman wants to continue his stay in London.

Palace are in the market for a striker this summer, and recently met disappointment in their chase for Christian Benteke, after Liverpool rejected their offer for the Belgian.

While it is unclear whether they are still in the chase for Benteke, it has emerged that the London club are also closely following the trail of out-of-favour and wantaway Chelsea striker Remy.

The Frenchman has failed to settle down at Chelsea since joining the club from Newcastle United in 2014, and has struggled to nail down a regular place in the squad.

Antonio Conte has deemed the striker surplus to requirements, and Palace are keen to pounce on the opportunity of signing Remy this summer.

And according to French sports daily L’Equipe, Remy is seriously considering the proposal of his former Newcastle manager Alan Pardew as it will give him an opportunity to continue in London.

Despite interest from Ronald Koeman’s Everton, Remy is more interested in a move to a London club, which has allowed Palace to become favourites for this signature.

Palace are expected to offer a proposal for Remy that would contain an initial loan deal, with an option to make the move permanent at a later date.
