Barcelona technical director Robert Fernandez has hinted that Manchester City target Claudio Bravo will not be allowed to leave before a new goalkeeper is bought by the club.

There has been speculation in recent days that Bravo’s time at Barcelona is rapidly coming to an end, with suggestions that he is ready to move to Manchester City this month in a deal worth €25m.

With Marc-Andre ter Stegen injured, Bravo has continued to feature for Barcelona, and was in the team that beat Sevilla in the Supercopa final last night.

Fernandez confirmed that Bravo will again feature against Real Betis this Saturday in Barcelona’s first league game of the season, and refused to comment on the speculation surrounding the player’s future.

However, he indicated that any potential move to Manchester City won’t happen for Bravo before the club sign another goalkeeper this month.
