Inter have made enquiries to discover whether FC Porto defender Bruno Martins Indi is close to joining Liverpool as they weigh up a move for the Dutchman.

Liverpool have been linked with moving to sign the Netherlands international as they look to address their defensive issues; the Reds have conceded five goals in their opening two Premier League games.

Martins Indi is a player well known by new Inter coach Frank de Boer, who saw him at close quarters in the Eredivisie, and the Italian giants are considering swooping for him.

But first, according to Italian outlet Calcio Mercato, they have been making enquiries to discover if Martins Indi is indeed close to signing for Liverpool.

If available, Inter could offer a season-long loan deal with a purchase option to Porto in a bid to sign the Dutchman.
