Serie A giants AC Milan have rejected the chance to sign Tottenham Hotspur outcast Nabil Bentaleb this summer.

The 21-year-old is not being included in matchday squads, and Mauricio Pochettino has made it clear that the defensive midfielder doesn’t feature in his plans for the season.

With only a few days left in the transfer window, Bentaleb is still on the lookout for a new club, and it has been claimed that he was offered to a Serie A side in the last few days.

According to Sky Italia, the Rossoneri were offered the chance to sign the player, but they have opted against snapping up the 21-year-old defensive midfielder and are looking at other options.

AC Milan are in the market for a midfielder this summer, but it seems Bentaleb is not the kind of player Vincenzo Montella is keen to recruit.

While he has made 66 senior appearances for Tottenham, the Algerian has been deemed surplus to requirements this summer by Pochettino, who added Victor Wanyama’s enormous presence to his midfield options during the transfer window.

Bentaleb still has close to four years left on his contract with Spurs.
