Newcastle United's capture of DeAndre Yedlin from Tottenham Hotspur will open the door for Daryl Janmaat to join West Ham United, it has been claimed.

Rafael Benitez's men are quickly closing in on the signature of Yedlin, who is expected on Tyneside either later today or tomorrow, to put the finishing touches to his move to St. James' Park.

And Yedlin's move will have consequences, as according to the Shields Gazette, Janmaat is set to join West Ham when Newcastle have the Spurs defender safely through the door.

The Hammers have been looking for further additions and are poised to provide Janmaat with a speedy return to the Premier League.

Yedlin spent the majority of last term on loan at Newcastle's rivals Sunderland, but is landing at St. James' Park to push Benitez's efforts to engineer an instant return to the top flight for the Magpies.
