Ian Harte is hoping that Charlie Taylor does not move on from Leeds United this summer as he believes Tyler Denton can learn a lot from the left-back.

Denton was handed his senior Leeds debut on Tuesday night away at Luton Town in the EFL Cup and his stunning strike in the 23rd minute proved to be the difference between the teams as the Whites marched on to the next round.

Harte, a former Leeds left-back himself and also Denton's agent, rates Taylor as the finest left-back in the Championship and wants his young client to soak up everything he can from his team-mate.

Taylor though has been linked with a move to the Premier League and has refused to extend a contract which expires at the end of this season, meaning he could be on the move.

But Harte hopes he stays put.

Harte wrote on Twitter: "Charlie Taylor is the best left-back in the Championship and Tyler Denton can learn so much from him on and off the field."

Denton was praised by Whites head coach Garry Monk following Leeds' win at Luton; Monk included Denton in the first team squad when he was appointed Leeds boss earlier this summer.

The young full-back will be looking to kick on with further games this season, but whether he can continue to learn his trade from Taylor remains to be seen.
