Lazar Markovic may be firmly on the fringes at Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp, but he still believes the German boss is "amazing".

The Serbian winger spent last season on loan in Turkey with Fenerbahce after struggling to make an impact at Anfield following his arrival in the summer of 2014; Markovic was signed by Klopp's predecessor, Brendan Rodgers.

Markovic has been linked with the exit door at Liverpool this summer after suggestions he is not in Klopp's plans, though no deal has been done yet and he remains at Anfield.

He has not featured for Liverpool this season, but says his heart and his head remain at the club and has lauded Klopp as an amazing coach.

"I am here to help the team when I have my chance", Markovic was quoted as saying by Portuguese outlet Noticias Ao Minuto.

"Will anything change? We'll see. I am here with my head and my heart. Klopp is amazing."

And Markovic is confident about the Reds' prospects under the former Borussia Dortmund boss.

"I think Liverpool with him this season will be great. And over time we will be even better", the winger added.

Markovic cost Liverpool a fee of £20m to take from Benfica and put pen to paper on a contract running until 2019 when he arrived.
