Jurgen Klopp wants to raid Borussia Dortmund for promising 17-year-old winger Christian Pulisic and the Reds have slapped in an £11m offer, according to the Times.

Liverpool are looking to make further additions to their squad ahead of the closure of the summer transfer window on Wednesday.

And the German tactician wants to take one of his former club's most promising players to Anfield in the shape of Pulisic.

Just 17 years old, Pulisic was born in the United States, but headed to Germany to take a spot in Borussia Dortmund's youth ranks in 2015.

The young winger did not reside with the club's youth ranks for long and was quickly promoted to the first team group as the Bundesliga giants recognised his potential.

Now Klopp is hoping than an offer of £11m will be enough to tempt Borussia Dortmund into parting with the American.

He has opposition for Pulisic's signature however, as Stoke City are also keen on the youngster.

Earlier this week it was suggested the Potters could put €20m on the table for the winger, which would come in above Liverpool's offer.

Borussia Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel is known to rate the wide-man highly, meaning the Ruhr giants may not do business though, no matter the bid.

Pulisic has won six senior caps for the United States.
