Celtic defender Jozo Simunovic is undergoing a medical ahead of his proposed move to Serie A outfit Torino.

The Turin club have been chasing the Croatian defender for some time, and after some convincing it seems they have finally reached an agreement with Celtic over his transfer.




After obtaining permission from Celtic, the defender has arrived in Italy, and according to Sky Italia, the 22-year-old is currently undergoing a medical with the Serie A club.

The deal is moving at a rapid pace, and Torino are confident of obtaining Simunovic’s signature on a contract as soon as he is completes the medical formalities.
 


Simunovic has struggled to remain fit since the start of the season and has not played a single game for Celtic under new manager Brendan Rodgers because of the injuries.

And it seems the defender could play his first bit of competitive football this season in Italy, wearing the Torino colours after he completes his move.

Simunovic joined Celtic from Dinamo Zagreb last summer and made just 17 appearances last season as he struggled with a serious knee injury.
