Sevilla have rejected Sunderland’s offer for midfielder Vincent Iborra, and the player is now set to continue playing in Spain.

David Moyes has been chasing the 28-year-old midfielder, and has been keen to add his presence to the Sunderland midfield ahead of Wednesday’s transfer deadline.

And there have been suggestions that Sunderland could be on the verge of signing the Spaniard, but it seems Iborra is set to continue plying his trade for Sevilla.

According to Spanish daily Marca, the Andalusian club have rejected Sunderland’s €9m offer for the midfielder, and are unwilling to lose Iborra in the final days of the window.

Sevilla manager Jorge Sampaoli also considers the 28-year-old midfielder a key player for his squad, and is not keen on seeing him leaving in the last hours of the summer window.
