Lars Veldwijk has revealed he is in talks with Nottingham Forest to leave the Championship club, with a return to the Eredivisie an option.

Forest have just snapped up striker Nicolao Dumitru on a season-long loan deal from Italian giants Napoli, though they are expected to look to bring in another striker, which may be dependent on whether they can ship Veldwijk out.

Veldwijk has interest from a number of clubs, including in Belgium, Greece and Turkey, which means it could be a busy transfer deadline day for the 25-year-old. He has a year left on his contract with Forest and is in talks to leave, though it remains to be seen if the City Ground side will allow him to terminate his deal.

"I expect things to be quickly clarified and if it works out, then a return to the Eredivisie is absolutely an option", the Forest man told FOX Sports.

"At FC Utrecht and ADO Den Haag I am in the picture provided Sebastien Haller and Mike Havenaar make a transfer", he explained.

"And at my old club Excelsior I am welcome. PEC Zwolle has already been foreseen.

"Also, there are some things, including Belgium, Turkey and Greece.

"Time is running out, but I am hopeful that it will come good."

Veldwijk has just over 24 hours to seal a move away from the City Ground and attempt to relaunch his career following a disappointing spell with the Championship club.

The 25-year-old, who joined Forest in 2014 from Excelsior, spent last season on loan back in his homeland with Zwolle, who he helped finish eighth in the Eredivisie.
