Didier Ndong has moved to Sunderland on a five-year contract from French side Lorient, according to French sports daily L'Equipe.

The defensive midfielder has headed to the Stadium of Light for a fee of around €20m, making him the Black Cats' most expensive ever signing.

Sunderland boss David Moyes has been looking to make additions to his squad before the transfer window slams shut this evening and Ndong is now a deal pushed over the line.

Ndong only joined Lorient in 2015, landing from Tunisian side CS Sfaxien, and has rapidly risen to prominence through his accomplished displays in the French top flight.

The 22-year-old has won 18 caps at international level for Gabon since making his debut for the African country in 2012.
