Jozo Simunovic is returning to Scottish champions Celtic, despite passing a medical with Italian outfit Torino earlier today.

The Croatian appeared set to move to the Serie A side, where he would have joined Joe Hart as a new signing, the goalkeeper having moved from Manchester City on a season-long loan deal.

But Torino could not agree a fee with Celtic, who insisted throughout they were happy to take Simunovic back if no deal could be thrashed out.

And they have now done so, according to BBC Scotland.

Simunovic will now head back to the Scottish champions and fight for his place under manager Brendan Rodgers.
