Real Madrid want Tottenham Hotspur target Isco to leave in order to get playing time, but the player himself wants to stay at the Bernabeu.

On deadline day Real Madrid are plotting a major departure as they look to convince the player to consider a move away from the club for the sake of his career.

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane doesn’t consider the Spaniard a key player, and is open to the idea of leaving, with clubs such as Tottenham and Malaga interested.

And according to Spanish daily Mundo Deportivo, the European champions are trying their best to convince Isco to consider an exit from the Bernabeu as he is unlikely to feature regularly under Zidane this season.

The midfielder wants to continue at Real Madrid and fight for his place in the squad, but could consider a move to a La Liga club.

Despite interest and contacts from Tottenham, the midfielder’s advisers prefer a move to Malaga as it will allow Isco to continue playing in the Spanish top tier.

However, the time for a move away from Real Madrid is running out fast and Isco will have to decide soon if he wants to secure a transfer by the end of the day.

He has a little less than two years left on his contract with Los Blancos.
